Microneedling involves the use of a specialized device with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This process supports the body’s natural healing response and normal tissue repair processes. From a TCM perspective, this technique helps promote the movement of Qi and Blood, supporting healthy tissue function and recovery.

In traditional TCM, a similar approach has long been used through the Plum Blossom (Seven Star) needle, a tool designed to gently stimulate the surface of the skin to promote circulation and encourage the body’s healing response. Microneedling can be understood as a modern extension of this principle, using updated tools to support similar therapeutic goals within a contemporary clinical setting.

This treatment may be used to support tissue repair, improve local circulation, assist in the management of scar tissue, and maintain overall skin integrity and function. When appropriate, it may be incorporated alongside acupuncture as part of a broader treatment plan to address underlying factors such as stress, hormonal balance, and systemic health.

Scalp microneedling is used to support scalp health and follicular function by promoting circulation, supporting tissue stimulation, and enhancing the absorption of topical preparations when clinically appropriate.
